Last weekend I took my first trip to Cleethorpes to see Adam as he’s working down there for the next few months. When I arrived I was chuffed to see how central Adam’s apartment is to everything – including the seafront and a Wetherspoons! This was my first of many trips to the seaside town; I’ve already planned my next trip for a couple of weeks time. From Middlesbrough to Cleethorpes it is a 258 mile round trip which means I’ll have to take extra care on the roads and make sure my car is fit for the journey each time.
Sometimes the best places to visit are right on your doorstep. With the weather being as unpredictable as ever, it’s been nice to make the most of those rare warm and sunny days. One evening after a long slog in the gym, me and Adam jumped in the car and decided to get some chips for tea (we worked for it!). Whilst Redcar beach is a little closer, I much prefer Saltburn it seems like a real holiday destination despite it being just 15 minutes down the road. View Post
On Friday morning Adam and I jumped on the train armed with our homemade prosecco sangria ready to enjoy a fun-filled weekend in Edinburgh. We booked tickets for the Foodies Festival at Inverleith Park on the Saturday, an event for die-hard foodies to sample, buy and learn about all things food and drink! Finding a hotel in the centre of Edinburgh proved difficult as it was the start of the Fringe festival that same weekend (more on the Fringe festival in a later post!). Today I’m talking about the highlights from the Foodies Festival, what we sunk our teeth into and a few tips if you plan on making the trip yourself next year. View Post
As travel becomes more accessible and our eagerness to explore the world grows, becoming travel savvy is pretty important if you want your holiday to run smoothly. As a keen traveller myself, I’m finally getting into the swing of packing ‘lightly’ and effectively, something I used to struggle a lot with. There would be times where I would spend hours in my bedroom, surrounded by clothes, toiletries and mess with no idea what to take with me – and I’d always end up forgetting something. Today I’m sharing some of my essential holiday gadgets with you to help make travelling that little bit easier. View Post
I’ve been really enjoying checking out local bands recently, as you’ll know from my post about Two Blue Band the other week. Last weekend I went to watch another one of my friend’s boyfriend’s bands play at KU Bar in Stockton. Little Doves is a new band on the block made up of four talented musicians – Dan, Luke, Jonny and Ian. With a combination of guitars, drums and vocals, the band channels an indie/rock and roll sound that makes you want to sing and dance along with them. View Post
