A post I’ve been meaning to write for a longggg time but better later than never! November marked my 26th birthday and to celebrate Adam decided to take me on a surprise train trip for the day. He managed to keep the surprise all the way up until we collected our tickets at Darlington train station where I found out we were heading to Liverpool for the day. Little did I know that was only the beginning of the surprises! He’d also booked us into the 1st Class carriage with Transpenne Express and had booked a restaurant reservation for later that afternoon. He put in so much thought and did so well at keeping the surprise as you’ll know from our proposal story that we have a little habit of spoiling surprises! View Post
Yesterday Adam and I spent the morning how we spend most Saturday mornings – we got up early and went down to DW Fitness First for a session in the gym. Located at Middlesbrough Leisure Park, it’s just a short 10 minute drive from home and easily accessible from the A66. As we begin our time off over the holidays we decided to make the most of the time we have off together and do some fun things. So after we’d showered in the gym, we went to Cineworld* to book tickets for the new Mary Poppins film, Mary Poppins Returns, in 4DX for later that afternoon. View Post
As we countdown to the big man squeezing down our chimneys, festive events are happening left, right and centre. Last week I was invited along to The Talpore for breakfast for our office Christmas outing and to celebrate a family-friend’s birthday. It makes such a change going out for breakfast instead of an evening meal and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. We all know how routines go out the window over the Christmas holidays and it’s nice to do things you wouldn’t normally do which is why I thought I’d share my experience of breakfast at The Talpore in case you’re wanting to try something a little different during the holidays in a gorgeous location.
What better email to land in my inbox than an invite to the latest pizza restaurant to open in the North East? Last weekend I had the pleasure of visiting Pizza Punks* on Grey Street in Newcastle to enjoy a cool evening of cocktails, pizza and delicious side dishes. Adam and I booked a table for 5:30pm on Saturday afternoon to get there just before the evening rush. View Post
With Adam working away, weekends are always something for us to look forward to. A couple of weeks ago we’d arranged to go back to one of our favourite restaurants in Middlesbrough for an evening of cocktails, Caribbean food and good music. I’ve talked about Turtle Bay* a few times on my blog already, from when the Caribbean restaurant first opened in Middlesbrough to their tempting 2 for 1 cocktails offer but they’ve recently launched a new menu to encourage social eating – Caribbean style of course!
