Music | Two Blue Band at Sticky Fingers, Middlesbrough

Two Blue Band Sticky Fingers Middlesbrough

After a little break away from the blogging scene I’m back to share a fab local band for you to check out. A couple of weeks ago I finally got to watch my best friend’s fiance live in action doing what he loves. He’s a drummer in a fantastic band called Two Blue Band. I think it’s so cool to be able to say one of my friends is in a band, that automatically makes me cool too, right? Anyway, one Saturday night we popped down to Sticky Fingers on Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough to give the band a listen and have a few drinks.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’ve never really knowingly listened to blues music before. However I found that the music resembled the sort of tracks you would hear in the soundtrack of popular American crime series, Sons of Anarchy which I loved! The guys played a great selection of music including original tracks and covers from music legends.

Two Blue Band is a blues band made up of four talented musicians:

Ian Robinson – Vocalist/Rhythm Guitar
Michael Grant – Lead Guitar
Adam Crook – Drums
Daniel Milward – Bass Guitar

Rock and Roll Neon Sign

Despite not knowing many of the songs, I was soon bopping and toe-tapping to the beat and I really enjoyed it. The gig was split into two halves giving the band members chance to have a breather and talk to fans. The venue was packed out and close to full capacity when we arrived just after 9pm. This in turn made for an amazing atmosphere alongside great music.

The band is planning to incorporate a few more covers into their set including the infamous Mustang Sally and Superstition which I’m itching to hear! For a taster of what to expect from Two Blue Band, take a listen of their latest release of an original song called Too Blue in the video below.

The host of live gigs, open mic nights and music quiz nights, Sticky Fingers is a brilliant venue in the heart of Middlesbrough that supports local talent in the music industry. Located nearby the up and coming streets, Baker and Bedford street, Sticky Fingers is in a prime location for a casual pub crawl combined with live music, craft ale and quirky surroundings.
