After hearing through the grapevine that the glamorous Charlotte Tilbury was going to be brushing shoulders with beauty fans at a local Fenwick department store, me and my friend Natalie booked tickets straight away. With only 80 tickets available we had to be quick if we wanted to meet and have a chat to Tilbury in the flesh. Celebrating the release of her new instant look in a palette, the British makeup artist came to meet fans, sign some beauty boxes and recommend her products to us. I’ll be honest, before attending the event, I’d never tried any of her products before. However the price we paid for the ticket was redeemable off the products so to me it seemed like a great opportunity to learn more about makeup and have a world-renowned artist recommend makeup products to enhance my face.
Before Charlotte took centre stage in the Fenwick beauty hall, those who had purchased tickets to meet her queued up and were swamped with macaroons, chocolates, personalised biscuits and copious amounts of prosecco which helped to make the time pass quicker. We were each given a piece of paper with our name on one side and a checklist of Charlotte’s products on the other. This piece of paper was given to Tilbury’s transcriber who basically written down everything Charlotte suggested so you could relax and enjoy chatting to her without having to remember which products she recommended.
Me and Natalie went up together and it was such a great experience. Natalie is incredibly talented with makeup which was recognised by Charlotte when she asked her to come and work for her! She even signed it on the back of her box so fingers crossed something comes of it! Charlotte is such a lovely woman and it was great to meet her. She said I had beautiful blue eyes and that I should ditch the black eyeliner on my waterline to help them stand out more. Since then, I’ve stopped wearing eyeliner all together and I’m channeling a fresher look!
After being slightly starstuck from meeting Charlotte, we were escorted over to a makeup artist on the Charlotte Tilbury counter to give us a makeover according to the ‘look’ Charlotte had recommended us. I was given The Golden Godess makeover which was a golden, sunkissed look. When it came to redeeming the cost of our tickets, I decided to pick up the Uptown Girl palette which included four eyeshadows, two greys and two champagne shades, to create the perfect smokey eye. I also bought my first Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Amazing Grace which is a lovely rose colour in a matte finish.
Overall it was a fantastic event from start to finish thanks to Fenwick. I’m so happy to finally own some products from the hyped beauty collection from Charlotte Tilbury, there will be a review to follow in the coming weeks.
