These days I get more excited about buying new gym gear than I do normal clothes. I’ve started to spend a lot more time in the gym lately and try to go every chance I get, after all, summer bodies are made in the winter, right? I’m a real Nike girl at heart which means buying gym stuff can turn out quite expensive. With me saving up spending money for my next holiday (Thursday – eek!), I’ve been tightening my budget and opting for some cheaper pieces to add to my ever-growing gym collection.
When I’m in need of new gym wear, my go-to places are Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Sports Direct. Both places do some amazing deals on well-known sports brands, including my beloved Nike.
First up, I went to Sports Direct and picked up a pair of Nike ankle-length leggings, these were £26.99 reduced from £31.99. The calf length capri pants are usually my go-to for the gym however with the temperatures dropping, I thought it was about time I invested in a pair of ankle-length ones. I’ve been tempted to delve into the world of patterned gym pants so if you know of any good places stocking them, let me know! The only downside to these leggings is that they don’t have a bum pouch (back pocket) for me to put my phone in like my other capri bottoms do but it’s not a massive deal breaker.
I also found some cool sports bras from the brand USA Pro which is also available at Sports Direct. I love the cross over strap detail at the back and the seamless design makes it so comfortable to wear. They are available in loads of different colours but I’ve just stuck with black for now. Maybe not so great for bigger-busted women but those with smaller chests like myself will get along great with these!
I popped into Primark last weekend to find they have a HUGE new gym wear collection in stock. I got a grey sports bra for just £4! I never thought I would ever find a sports bra for so cheap. Again, I’m not sure how great they are for bigger-chests but for me it’s working out just fine. The padded cups are removable and the ventilation holes are as practical as they are stylish.
Finally, I’ve been searching for a fleece-lined, waterproof jacket for me to wear to and from the gym. The ones I had seen previously were a bit pricey so when I saw this black one from Primark for £16 I was over the moon. The sleeves are lined with a fleece material, it has a hood and it keeps me dry when it’s raining. The jacket is really lightweight too so it slips into my gym bag easily without adding extra weight.
I’ve never bought gym clothes from Primark before so I’m not sure on how durable they’ll be however the bra and jacket I bought are definitely among my favourite purchases so far this year.
