DIY | Personalised Advent Calendars

Advent calender Today is the day we’ve all been waiting for – the first day of advent! There’s no better feeling than  knowing you have a solid four weeks where eating chocolate for breakfast is actually acceptable. With it being my first Christmas in my own house this year, I knew my mum wouldn’t be buying me an advent calendar which made me think about a new way to countdown for Christmas. Whilst I was tempted by the Yankee Candle calendar and the Lush 12 days of Christmas calendar, my creative side was itching to make an entrance.

My original plan was to create my very own advent calendar by sourcing some Christmas themed fabric and putting together some bunting that I can hang up and pop my own sweet treats into.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time to set aside for this creative venture and came across some really cute washing line style advent calendars at The Christmas Boutique. I decided to go for the white and green envelope style calendar as it would suit my home perfectly (I’m a sucker for green).

Advent treatsI got a mixture of chocolates and jelly sweets to pop into each envelope for each day so me and Ross can take it in turns to have a treat from it. If you haven’t got much of a sweet tooth, you could swap the sweets for practical or funny gifts like beauty products, jokes or brain teasers.

  • Such a pretty personalised calendar! Unfortunately, it’s too late for me to make an advent calendar now but I will remember this for next year!

    • It’s cute, isn’t it?! I’d love to attempt making my own next year if I plan more in advance! x
