Cocktails at The Cow Shed Middlesbrough

A couple of months ago I was sat in Uno Momentos on Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough when I spotted two new shops over the road, one called The Cow Shed and another called One 59. It looked like they were making the finishing touches to both of the venues as they weren’t quite open yet so I decided to do a bit of digging when I got home. I found out the One 59 is a bar and The Cow Shed is a gourmet burger shack and they’re actually attached to one another. As I’ve mentioned before, Adam and I have been on the hunt for the best burger so we were eager to give this one a try. Bikini Berlin Germany

As we approach the busiest time of the year for me with my birthday and Christmas celebrations coming up, I’ve been reminiscing on last year’s trips and excitement that accompanied the winter months. Last year I had the pleasure of visiting Winter Wonderland and attending the Royal Variety Performance in London, I got the ferry to Amsterdam and my final holiday of the year was a 4 day trip to Berlin. Looking back on my photos from Berlin there’s so much I still need to share with you all, I’ve simply not had the chance to! Today I’m talking about one of the highlights from my trip to Berlin and a must for any of you visiting the German city in the near future.  View Post

Cheese, Wine and Beer Sign

During a trip to London last month, one of the places that were at the top of our list to visit was The Cheese Bar in Camden. After seeing numerous videos on Facebook of bubbling cheese fondue and stretchy cheese pulls coming from the same eatery in London, we decided we had to hunt it down. After arriving in Camden one morning, Adam and I set our sights on The Cheese Bar nestled cosily within the Stables Market of Camden which happens to be an absolute foodies haven!  View Post

Bistrot Pierre Bar Middlesbrough

Bistrot Pierre* kindly invited me along to visit their new Middlesbrough branch to sample their delectable menu that brings a taste of France to the North East. Serving up beautiful home cooked food that is freshly prepared daily using carefully sourced ingredients from local producers and artisan French producers and suppliers, it’s difficult to tell it’s a chain restaurant when you step foot into the French bistrot.  View Post

Long distance car journeys

Last weekend I took my first trip to Cleethorpes to see Adam as he’s working down there for the next few months. When I arrived I was chuffed to see how central Adam’s apartment is to everything – including the seafront and a Wetherspoons! This was my first of many trips to the seaside town; I’ve already planned my next trip for a couple of weeks time. From Middlesbrough to Cleethorpes it is a 258 mile round trip which means I’ll have to take extra care on the roads and make sure my car is fit for the journey each time.
