As we approach the busiest time of the year for me with my birthday and Christmas celebrations coming up, I’ve been reminiscing on last year’s trips and excitement that accompanied the winter months. Last year I had the pleasure of visiting Winter Wonderland and attending the Royal Variety Performance in London, I got the ferry to Amsterdam and my final holiday of the year was a 4 day trip to Berlin. Looking back on my photos from Berlin there’s so much I still need to share with you all, I’ve simply not had the chance to! Today I’m talking about one of the highlights from my trip to Berlin and a must for any of you visiting the German city in the near future. View Post
Last weekend I took my first trip to Cleethorpes to see Adam as he’s working down there for the next few months. When I arrived I was chuffed to see how central Adam’s apartment is to everything – including the seafront and a Wetherspoons! This was my first of many trips to the seaside town; I’ve already planned my next trip for a couple of weeks time. From Middlesbrough to Cleethorpes it is a 258 mile round trip which means I’ll have to take extra care on the roads and make sure my car is fit for the journey each time.
As travel becomes more accessible and our eagerness to explore the world grows, becoming travel savvy is pretty important if you want your holiday to run smoothly. As a keen traveller myself, I’m finally getting into the swing of packing ‘lightly’ and effectively, something I used to struggle a lot with. There would be times where I would spend hours in my bedroom, surrounded by clothes, toiletries and mess with no idea what to take with me – and I’d always end up forgetting something. Today I’m sharing some of my essential holiday gadgets with you to help make travelling that little bit easier. View Post
Today’s post was supposed to be one to get people in the Christmas spirit and for me to reflect on the amazing trip I had to Berlin last month. Unfortunately this post is overshadowed by the horrific terror attack that took place at the Christmas market in Breitscheidplatz on Monday night. After being at that exact market just three weeks ago, it sends chills through me and has really stopped me in my tracks for writing what was supposed to be an exciting post. Whilst in Berlin, the capital of Germany, it felt like one of the safest cities I’ve ever been to. My heart goes out to the poor victims who were wrongly killed so close to Christmas and to all who were injured. I wish the cruelty in this world would just stop; just when you think we’re over the worst, something else comes along to cause more tragedy. View Post
On Friday I’ll be jetting off to Berlin to explore the city and visit the Christmas markets – I’m so excited! To help me prepare for my trip and to shed a little light on the history of Berlin, I’ve got a guest post from travel blogger, Andrew, who blogs over at Wanderlust 15. I hope you enjoy reading his post on how to spend 24 hours in Berlin as much as I did! View Post
