Sometimes the best places to visit are right on your doorstep. With the weather being as unpredictable as ever, it’s been nice to make the most of those rare warm and sunny days. One evening after a long slog in the gym, me and Adam jumped in the car and decided to get some chips for tea (we worked for it!). Whilst Redcar beach is a little closer, I much prefer Saltburn it seems like a real holiday destination despite it being just 15 minutes down the road. View Post
Today marks the start of the two day Festival of Thrift. This year the sustainable festival has relocated from Darlington to Kirkleatham in Redcar for its annual celebration of all things thrifty and fabulous. From the free family festival you can expect to find over 120 stalls, 200 workshops and demos and over 1,200 things to do. On from 10am to 5pm, you can participate in some clever workshops, fill your belly with food from the unique boutique vans dotted around the grounds and watch a series of entertainment shows and exhibitions. A few weeks ago me and my mam decided to venture to somewhere a little different to our beloved places in Middlesbrough and Norton by turning our sights to Stokesley instead. We decided to go to Bexters Tea Room situated just off the busy high street of Stokesley village. My mam’s friend’s sister owns the tea room so we decided to pop by for a spot of lunch on a wet and dreary day.
Earlier this month I was kindly invited to the Ox Pasture Hall Hotel in Yorkshire to enjoy an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. This invitation couldn’t have come at a better time as me and my boyfriend have been eager to get away for a bit so a couple of weeks later we packed our stuff and headed off to Scarborough for the night. People are quick to judge when I say I’m from Middlesbrough. Voted the worst place to live in England in 2007 by the TV programme Location Location Location, the town hasn’t got a great reputation through the eyes of the media. In actual fact, the majority of people who bad name us either haven’t visited Middlesbrough or haven’t ventured much further than the town centre. View Post
