American Style Afternoon Tea at Karbon Grill Sunderland

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of joining some other local bloggers for afternoon tea with a twist at the Karbon Grill restaurant in the Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Sunderland. The Karbon Grill is located directly opposite the Stadium of Light and is easily accessible. Lately I have been LOVING picky-teas, you know the kind where you get multiple portions of different types of food to try so you don’t get bored? On Tuesday I got to sample the American style afternoon tea which is new to the Karbon Grill menu.  View Post

Hot Drinks from Barwicks Coffee Bar, Portrack Lane

Portrack Lane in Stockton isn’t a place I would usually associate with nice places to eat or drink. Having previously worked on Portrack Lane with only Asda, Greggs and McDonalds within walking distance for lunch, I’ve never had much reason to go back when we moved premises. However, it wasn’t until recently me and my mam found out about Barwick’s Coffee Bar, situated in the car park of Collectables, right next to Jump 360.  View Post

Carvery to Takeaway at Roast, Middlesbrough

This week marks Roast Dinner Week so it seemed fitting to write a review on the last, but by no means least, eatery to open on Bedford Street in Middlesbrough – Roast. Roast is a specialist carvery shop that offers freshly roasted carvery sandwiches to takeaway. With a beautiful selection of locally sourced meats from North Yorkshire which change weekly,  there’s always something new for meat-lovers to try.   View Post

Great North Snowdogs 2016 Launch

Monday marked the opening of the trail for the Great North Snowdogs 2016. Inspired by everybody’s favourite animated short film, The Snowman, the public art event features over 61 snowdog sculptures which have been beautifully designed by artists across the country. For the next 10 weeks, the snowdogs will be dotted near tourist attractions around Tyne and Wear for families, couples and groups to explore the local area, learn more about the artist behind each dog and help raise money for a fantastic cause. At the end of the ten week trail, the dogs will be auctioned off to raise money for the St Oswald’s Children’s Hospice.
