Eats form the Street Teesside Park

Back in the beginning when I first started this blog, my main goal was to share my love for my local community and document the lovely eating places I discover along the way. Although small, Middlesbrough is a fantastic area for events and one thing in particular that I’ve been loving over this past year is the monthly farmer’s markets taking place across the North East. Here I’ve been able to purchase homemade and locally grown produce right on my doorstep. I believe in supporting independent traders and much prefer the quality products they have to offer.  View Post

Turtle Bay Jerk Nibbles

Hello guys! I’m sorry for my lack of presence on the blog lately but life has taken over and I’ve been enjoying a short break away from it all. Today I’m getting back into the groove of things by sharing a review of an amazing new restaurant coming to Middlesbrough. For me, 2017 is all about trying new things, as you will know from my first encounter with Octopus last month. This week I had the pleasure of attending the VIP launch night of Turtle Bay on Corporation Road in Middlesbrough. A vibrant Caribbean restaurant boasting sensational flavours from their famous jerk chicken and steamed goat curry to their lethal cocktails. Caribbean food is something I’ve never delved into so this event was something I was really looking forward to.  View Post

Little Doves KU Bar

I’ve been really enjoying checking out local bands recently, as you’ll know from my post about Two Blue Band the other week. Last weekend I went to watch another one of my friend’s boyfriend’s bands play at KU Bar in Stockton. Little Doves is a new band on the block made up of four talented musicians – Dan, Luke, Jonny and Ian. With a combination of guitars, drums and vocals, the band channels an indie/rock and roll sound that makes you want to sing and dance along with them.  View Post

Two Blue Band Sticky Fingers Middlesbrough

After a little break away from the blogging scene I’m back to share a fab local band for you to check out. A couple of weeks ago I finally got to watch my best friend’s fiance live in action doing what he loves. He’s a drummer in a fantastic band called Two Blue Band. I think it’s so cool to be able to say one of my friends is in a band, that automatically makes me cool too, right? Anyway, one Saturday night we popped down to Sticky Fingers on Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough to give the band a listen and have a few drinks.  View Post
