Wedding countdown

I was in two minds whether to write this post or just to keep the special day between me and Adam but with my blog being the place where I’ve been documenting the highlights of my life over the years, it seemed only right to share this special moment here too. As requested by a few people, I’ve decided to share the proposal story of when Adam asked me to marry him on Tuesday 6th February 2018 in New York City – 4 months ago today!

Since passing my driving test in 2010, I’ve bought three different cars. After getting to grips with driving on my own and acquiring my first full time job I decided to wave goodbye to my beloved first car, a Ford Fiesta, and treat myself to a brand new Fiat 500 straight from the showroom. Although my Fiat was my pride and joy during the time I had it, when it came to selling it in 2016 in exchange for something a little bigger, I was surprised and disappointed by how much my car had depreciated in value. Despite looking after it and it having an appealing low mileage, I struggled to get even half of what I paid for it just four years earlier. After this I vowed not to buy a brand new car again because it loses value as soon as you drive it out of the showroom. So here we are again and wow, what a year it has been. Despite never sticking to a ‘series’ on my blog, I find these year in review posts a great way to look back on each year, especially for myself. It gives me a chance to reflect on the year and focus on the highlights that came from it. From what started off as a year of with uncertainty, worry and a lot of stress, 2017 ended contently in my warm home with the one I love and I couldn’t have wished for anything more.  View Post

Bikini Berlin Germany

As we approach the busiest time of the year for me with my birthday and Christmas celebrations coming up, I’ve been reminiscing on last year’s trips and excitement that accompanied the winter months. Last year I had the pleasure of visiting Winter Wonderland and attending the Royal Variety Performance in London, I got the ferry to Amsterdam and my final holiday of the year was a 4 day trip to Berlin. Looking back on my photos from Berlin there’s so much I still need to share with you all, I’ve simply not had the chance to! Today I’m talking about one of the highlights from my trip to Berlin and a must for any of you visiting the German city in the near future.  View Post

Long distance car journeys

Last weekend I took my first trip to Cleethorpes to see Adam as he’s working down there for the next few months. When I arrived I was chuffed to see how central Adam’s apartment is to everything – including the seafront and a Wetherspoons! This was my first of many trips to the seaside town; I’ve already planned my next trip for a couple of weeks time. From Middlesbrough to Cleethorpes it is a 258 mile round trip which means I’ll have to take extra care on the roads and make sure my car is fit for the journey each time.
