Tapas Revolution Bar Eldon Square

Last week I was invited along to an exclusive event at Tapas Revolution* in Eldon Square, Newcastle, for a pairing dinner hosted by Spanish celebrity chef, Omar Allibhoy. Celebrating the opening of his seventh restaurant in the UK, Omar is the mastermind behind the Spanish restaurant chain and is passionate about bringing a real taste of Spain to the UK. Although classed as a chain restaurant, Tapas Revolution is unlike other restaurants that have other branches scattered around the country. Omar prides his business on using the finest Spanish ingredients, there’s no ordering from catalogues each week. It’s all about fresh produce which he orders from his contacts directly from Spain itself and it doesn’t get more authentic than that.  View Post

Dovecot Middlesbrough

Today I’ve got another local gem for you all that I’m sure you’re going to love! One of the latest businesses to open its doors to the North East is Dovecot Bar which is located on Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough. Situated across the road from the ever-popular duo of streets – Baker Street and Bedford Street, Dovecot is in a prime location for a couple of drinks with your friends on an evening. Boasting Middlesbrough’s longest bar and 40 different gins to choose from, it’s a newfound haven for anyone who loves a socialable gin and tonic. Although I’m yet to visit Dovecot on a bustling evening, I have been a couple of times during its first month of opening to sample their food menu and it’s definitely one to try!  View Post

American Style Afternoon Tea at Karbon Grill Sunderland

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of joining some other local bloggers for afternoon tea with a twist at the Karbon Grill restaurant in the Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Sunderland. The Karbon Grill is located directly opposite the Stadium of Light and is easily accessible. Lately I have been LOVING picky-teas, you know the kind where you get multiple portions of different types of food to try so you don’t get bored? On Tuesday I got to sample the American style afternoon tea which is new to the Karbon Grill menu.  View Post

Hot Drinks from Barwicks Coffee Bar, Portrack Lane

Portrack Lane in Stockton isn’t a place I would usually associate with nice places to eat or drink. Having previously worked on Portrack Lane with only Asda, Greggs and McDonalds within walking distance for lunch, I’ve never had much reason to go back when we moved premises. However, it wasn’t until recently me and my mam found out about Barwick’s Coffee Bar, situated in the car park of Collectables, right next to Jump 360.  View Post
