Acropolis Greek Taverna Middlesbrough - Hummus and Tzatziki

The food scene in Middlesbrough is booming at the moment, brimming with a great deal of diverse eateries for us to sink our teeth into. Gone are the days of having to decide between the Weatherspoons or the mediocre Italian, we now have a huge selection of specialist restaurants to choose from including Turkish, Mexican, Caribbean and Greek. What’s even better is the food is as authentic as it comes, you could enter a restaurant and be transported to a different corner of the world and that’s what I adore about the food industry. It’s not just about the food, but the whole dining experience. View Post

Eats form the Street Teesside Park

Back in the beginning when I first started this blog, my main goal was to share my love for my local community and document the lovely eating places I discover along the way. Although small, Middlesbrough is a fantastic area for events and one thing in particular that I’ve been loving over this past year is the monthly farmer’s markets taking place across the North East. Here I’ve been able to purchase homemade and locally grown produce right on my doorstep. I believe in supporting independent traders and much prefer the quality products they have to offer.  View Post

Sweet Potato Curry Turtle Bay

After popping along to the Turtle Bay taster evening before it opened its doors in Middlesbrough a couple of months ago, I was invited back down to the lively Caribbean restaurant to try the new summer menu. With plenty of rum-infused cocktails, mouthwatering jerk dishes and interesting combinations (curry goat anyone?), I couldn’t wait to tuck in.   View Post

Bacon sandwich at the alchemist newcastle

The Alchemist, one of my favourite cocktail bars of all time, is one of the newest additions to Newcastle’s Greys Quarter in Eldon Square. The new bar has understandably received a warm welcome since its opening earlier this year offering cocktails to replicate the sort of things you would see in a science lab and low lighting to create rustic ambience. Something you might not know about The Alchemist is that it is also a restaurant, serving up a cracking menu including a delectable breakfast. View Post

Cheese and Onion Waffle The Clubhouse Rockliffe Hall

Blog posts are few and far between at the moment and I apologise for that. I’ve been doing so much lately that I never actually have time to sit down at my laptop and tell you about all of the amazing things I’ve been up to! Today I’m telling you about my recent visit to Rockliffe Hall* in Hurworth, which is best known for being the home to the North East’s longest world-class golf course and its tranquil spa with impressive surroundings. Me and Adam were invited along to taste the new summer menu at The Clubhouse situated by the golf course. View Post
