Nutella Chocolate TrufflesLast Friday we had our annual bake off at work to help raise money for Children in Need. Instead of going down the traditional cake route, I thought I’d try making something I’ve never attempted before – chocolate truffles. After receiving a large jar of personalised Nutella for my birthday, I decided to make use of it and make some scrummy truffles with an added kick. View Post

As it was my birthday last weekend, it seemed necessary to celebrate at the Blacksmiths Arms – the home of steak on the stone. Located in North Yorkshire, this traditional country pub is situated in a lovely little village called Swainby. Whenever we have something to celebrate, whether it is a new job, a birthday or anniversary, this place is always on the top of my list of places to visit. View Post

Spooky Surprise Pudding with Ice Cream

So Halloween is almost upon us and the chill in the air is starting to freak me out a little. This year I seem to be more excited for Halloween than usual, I’m not sure why; maybe it’s because it’s the first one in my own house? (I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing?!). Anyway, I’ve been listening to Monster Mash and Thriller, been to pick out my pumpkin to carve and I even attempted a Halloween themed dessert. View Post

The wonderful thing about my mum is that she’s great at finding out what’s going on in our local area. Last Saturday we decided to head over to Teesside Park after hearing about a little food event that was coming to the retail park called Eats from the Street. View Post

Sundays are made for eating, relaxing and sleeping away your hangover and last Sunday that’s exactly what happened. After a late night the evening before, me and my mum arranged to take a trip out for a traditional Sunday lunch at The Masham in Heartburn Village (if you haven’t been, I strongly recommend that you do – the beef melts in your mouth!). After our lovely midday lunch, we decided to take a spontaneous drive over to Yarm to have a little wander around the high street. Unfortunately most of the shops were closed, however we managed to have a good mooch around some lovely little charity shops. View Post
