On Monday I was invited along to a VIP tasting event to sample the delicious treats crafted up by Dominique Bendelow of Bendelow’s Kitchen. Displaying a grand selection of the many treats available as part of her catering and baking service, me and the other guests were able to sample bite sized portions of desserts which were dotted around throughout the gorgeous venue, The Artizan.
We spent the evening getting to know more about Bendelow’s Kitchen, the range of products she supplies and the types of events she can cater for. The event alone was good enough proof that Bendelow’s Kitchen is no stranger to whipping up hundreds of identical desserts without breaking a sweat (or at least she made it look that way!).
With Christmas being the company’s busiest time of the year, Bendelow’s Kitchen is hoping to turn her focus towards weddings and supplying couples with beautiful wedding favours and desserts for their special day. The shot glass cheesecakes and mini churros would make a perfect treat for wedding or party guests.
My favourites desserts from the evening were the Nutella shot glass cheesecakes which were the perfect portion without making you feel sick! Followed closely by the millionaires shortbread and the classic chocolate chip cookies.
The event took place in a cool gin and cocktail bar called The Artizan, situated on Roman Road in Middlesbrough. As well as sampling an array of sugary snacks at our leisure and mingling with other guests, we also got to indulge in The Artizan’s fabulous cocktail menu. I love the entertainment value that comes with cocktail making so it was fun to watch how the bar staff do it.
To keep in with the ‘sweet’ theme of the evening, I decided to go for the Marshallow Fizz which was a Bailey’s based drink with bitters, candy floss and topped off with a toasted marshmallow – It was absolutely delicious!
