Now that autumn is finally here, I can’t wait for all of the festivities to begin. I’ve came to the conclusion that autumn is probably my favourite season of the year – I just love wrapping up warm and being all cosy. With everything from Halloween and bonfire night to my birthday and the exciting run up to Christmas, it feels like there’s always something to look forward to. Anyway, now that we are in the thick of October, you’ll have noticed that shops are beginning to get their festive goods prepared for the Christmas rush. Last week me and my mam attended the Strikes Christmas event so I thought I’d share a few photos from the evening to get you all in the mood for the most wonderful time of the year…
For those of you who don’t know, Strikes is a garden centre in Stokesley and stocks your usual garden essentials. However over the Christmas period, their garden centre transforms into a magical cove full of twinkling decorations and festive treats. To celebrate the launch of their Christmas range, Strikes held a store event last Thursday evening to give customers a glimpse of the new range. Complete with jam and nut tasting, handmade wreaths for your home and a live singer to get you in the holiday spirit, it was a pretty good evening.
Of course, I couldn’t leave without getting a few treats so I got this adorable snowman (or should I say snow woman?), a bag of scented acorns that smell just like Christmas, a bit of ribbon to wrap some presents with and a lovely bauble to add to my Christmas tree.
What do you like to do to get you in the Christmas spirit? What’s you favourite thing about the festive period?
